The Greene County Medical Center recently purchased a piece of equipment to heighten its disinfecting routines.

The Total Room Ultraviolet Disinfection (Tru-D) Smart UVC is an automated, remotely-operated, portable device. The equipment is used after an environmental services staff member cleans a room using traditional methods. The Tru-D is then activated to further disinfect a room. The equipment uses sensors to calculate the amount of UVC energy that is needed to disinfect the room effectively and floods the targeted areas with the proper amounts of UVC light.

Tru-D can be used in several areas of the medical center, including patient and operating rooms, the emergency department and public spaces of the facility.
