The AC/GC football team aired the ball out more times this season than any other under head coach Cody Mathewson.

In Mathewson’s first two years, the Chargers attempted 47 passes in 18 games. With sophomore quarterback Brock Littler, AC/GC threw the ball 47 times in nine games this year. Mathewson let Littler air the ball out a bit more, and Littler showed he could make plays. In the first 18 games of Mathewson’s tenure, then quarterback Bryce Littler had 228 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Brock threw for 349 yards and two scores in half as many games in 2020. With that said, the Chargers still relied heavily on the run game and that’s not changing any time soon.
