2020 was a year that was rough on everyone between the COVID-19 pandemic and the derecho storm, which has caused some Iowans to ask for help.
Dallas County ISU Extension Regional Director Ann Torbert says one way people can take advantage of available resources is through the Iowa Concern Hotline which started during the farm crisis in the 80s but offers services on many different issues.
“When we take a look at mental health and stress with folks you’ve got folks who can help answer some basic legal questions or where to find the answer to the legal questions. Looking at finances, finances right now for families are really tough. General stress, depression as well as dealing with various other crises.”
Torbert says in the future more programs are being put together to help with mental health issues in Dallas County.
