Dallas Center – Grimes wrestling competed on Wednesday night in Waukee, hoping to see if it they could make it to state as a team. They took on Ankeny Centennial and couldn’t come away with the victory, falling short by the team score of 46-9.

Ethan Riesselman at 132 was able to grab a victory by decision 15-8, and at 145 Logan Gard was able to win via a disqualification to help earn points for the Mustangs lineup. Ankeny Centennial is one of the top tier teams in the state and showed, putting together a strong performance, though DCG did everything that they could to hang around.

The Mustangs will have some wrestlers competing in districts tomorrow for class 3A district six, as they hope to be sending some wrestlers to state in Des Moines next week.
