Last Monday was snowy and cold, but the players and coaches involved with the boys’ soccer program at Greene County High School were glad to get things underway. There were no Iowa high school sports last Spring due to COVID-19 concerns, and after coming off a Class 1A State Tournament berth, the Rams thought 2020 might be even more special. With last season cancelled, the Rams seem more anxious than ever to get things underway. “Yah, it’s been a cold start, but much better than two years ago, and we’ve pretty much been outside the whole time and guys are excited to get going, so we’ve withstood the cold, I think solely based on adrenaline to get outside and get playing, even if it has been cold.”

Temperatures starting warming up Thursday and Friday, and next week looks pleasant. The Rams scrimmage on Saturday, March 27 in Panora on Panorama High School’s all-weather surface. The first competition of the season that counts on the record is Saturday, April 3 vs. Perry and Des Moines North in Perry.
