Several students in Guthrie County recently were nominated for all-state individual speech.

According to Iowa High School Speech Association, a total of six students received the top recognition for their performances from the state contest. Panorama High School had two students get nominated, including Ruby Hummel for prose and Sami Mortensen with solo musical theater. Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School also had two students earn all-state designations, including Audrey Stowe with solo musical theater and Justin Reinhart with improvisational acting. Finally, two students from West Central Valley made it to all-state with Bodhi Mains in radio news broadcasting and Sophia Mahedy in acting.

Due to the pandemic, there will not be an all-state festival.
