As we wrap up National Hospitals Week, Guthrie County Hospital continues to play a key role in the communities they serve.

Guthrie County Hospital CEO Patrick Peters reflects on the importance of the hospital during the global pandemic, in concert with Guthrie County Public Health, and receiving federal, as well as local financial support to help protect staff and patients from spreading COVID-19.

“I would like to thank the hospital’s Foundation Board, the Hospital Board (of Trustees), the Women’s and Men’s 10 Squared groups for their financial support during COVID-19. And finally, to thank the hospital’s incident command team, and all of the hospital employees who worked significantly in contributing to our effort.”

Peters sums up how hospital staff and employees continued doing their regular duties and responsibilities while also at times made quick adjustments to the changes associated with COVID-19.

“They answered the call. The entire hospital came to work each shift performing their ordinary duties. But the fact that they did just that while adapting to additional duties and stress of what COVID-19 wrought made their work extraordinary.”

Peters is proud of the work everyone has done to control the spread of COVID-19 and continue to serve those who seek their services.
