Two people have died from Wednesday night’s two vehicle crash in Adair County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 7:52pm, 68-year-old Pamela Willey of Rock Springs, Wyoming was traveling east on Interstate-80 in a 2013 Toyota Camry when she rear-ended a 1999 Peterbilt semi-tractor trailer that was driven by 64-year-old Robert Johnson of Crescent, Iowa. The Camry came to a rest partially under the trailer.

As a result of the crash, two passengers in the Camry have died, including 85-year-old Harold Willey and 68-year-old Faye Frolic, both of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Harold was taken by Adair Rescue and Faye was taken by air ambulance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center, where they later died of their injuries. Pamela was also hurt and taken by air ambulance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Johnson was uninjured. The crash report indicates that no one in the Camry was wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. 

Adair and Cass County sheriff’s offices,  Adair Police Department, Iowa Department of Transportation and numerous fire departments assisted at the scene.
