
Dallas Center – Grimes baseball was able to advance to the semifinal round after a 6-0 victory over Saydel on Friday Night, which has a dynamic pitching performance from Trevor Hamil, who was able to throw a no hitter. Now the stakes will be higher tonight, as the Mustangs will hit the road to take on the Toreadors of Boone in the 2 vs. 3 matchup of 3A Substate 7 action. DCG will be coming into the matchup with a 18-15 record, with Boone in at 21-8, with this game projected to be very interesting between the two teams.
Boone is coming off of a first round win on Friday night against Creston in a 8-1 victory, as the Toreadors have been a solid team all season long, finishing second in the Raccoon River Conference. The keys for the Mustangs will be continuing to find key hits with hitters in scoring position, and find a way to take the lead early to put pressure on the Toreadors.
