It’s the heart of the construction season and sometimes situations happen where motorists encounter construction workers.
Dallas County Engineer Al Miller says crews will be out and about doing road work throughout Dallas County including things such as normal maintenance such as concrete patching, among other things. Miller reminds people to drive safely in construction zones.
“Our folks continue to do a really nice job with the services that we provide and if you see them doing something that you’re happy is finally getting done or what have you, don’t be afraid to wave or say thanks but please for everybody’s safety slow down, pay attention to the road construction signs that are out there and focus on your driving when you come up to some of our crews.”
Miller tells Raccoon Valley Radio it’s important for the roads department to be out on the roads completing projects so the roads don’t get so bad to where they need to get completely redone. Miller says it may be inconvenient for drivers but safety is important.
“Our folks will be out there and where we are at we will be inconveniencing folks as far as travel but please do pay attention and try to slow down and pre-plan your trips.”
Miller appreciates the motoring public’s help to achieve a higher sense of safety while road construction continues this year.
