With temperatures to remain in the upper 80s to lower 90s for a couple of days, it’s important to make smart clothing choices to avoid heat-related illnesses.
Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf offers these suggestions to protect areas of your body from being exposed to the sun.
“I would strongly urge you to find a wide-brimmed hat to wear to protect your nose. Your baseball hats are not adequate that leaves your ears and your nose open (to exposure to the sun). You may consider some light fabric, long-sleeved shirts, or even some pants.”
Wolf adds to wear sunscreen and drink fluids frequently to not succumb to heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
