The Greene County Early Learning Center has announced its speaker lineup for a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow.

The event will feature Greene County Development Corporation President and CEO of Home State Bank Sid Jones, Greene County Supervisors Chair John Muir, Greene County Schools Superintendent Tim Christensen, GCELC Executive Director Cherie Cerveny and Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. GCELC Co-President Jacque Andrew talks about another special guest speaker from the state.

“Beth Townsend, who is the director of Iowa Workforce Development. You might recall that we were the recipient of a couple of the largest grants, child care challenge grants, offered by Iowa Workforce Development in March, which was a huge gift to the project.”

Additionally, GCELC announced another business contribution toward the project. New Cooperative and Land O’ Lakes donated $5,000 to the Growth Happens Here campaign.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 10am tomorrow at the new building site at 306 South Vine Street, and it is open to the public.
