Mary J. Barnett Library celebrates 21 years of moving into their new building.

The celebration started this past  Tuesday with an author visit with cake and ice cream but will continue throughout the year with special events taking place. Library Director Pat Sleister says without the help from Guthrie County residents they could never have gotten to this point.

“The wonderful donations from the people of in this county we were able to build this library, it took us a few years to get it done but it was a labor of love and I think we have a really nice facility for the city and we’re here to serve the public and we’re really proud of our building.”

Sleister encourages  residents to come use the library as much as possible.
