With it being Fire Prevention Week, Stuart Fire Department is urging residents to take time and come up with a plan in the case of a fire in their house.
Assistant Fire Chief Steve Martinson stresses the need incase of a fire.
“Practice fire drills at home, make sure you have a plan and everyone knows it, whether it be a safe meeting place point if there is a fire in the house. Your children and other people know where you were be exactly be at in that case, in that scenario and how to get out and which direction they need to go.”
Martinson also states that parents need to teach their children the importance of “Stop, Drop, and Roll” if their clothing catches fire. The Stuart Fire Department is hosting a Fire Prevention Supper Fundraiser to continue the conversation about fire safety on October 9th.
