Greene County area teens who would like to see a free movie may do so later this week.

The Greene County Libraries Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors are teaming up to sponsor a free teen movie called, “Dear Evan Hansen.” The movie is based on a Broadway musical about Evan Hansen who has anxiety and is isolated in high school. Through a misunderstanding, Hansen goes through a self-discovery process. 

The free showing will be at 4pm this Friday at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson. Pre-registration is required by Thursday and teens can sign up at any of the six Greene County libraries. Free admission for the first 100 teens, who will also receive either a free bag of popcorn or $2 off concession stand items. Masks are encouraged but not required. 

The Greene County Libraries Association urges teens to pick up a copy of the book.
