For the Panorama Panthers girls basketball team they will have plenty of returning players on the team this year, but there also will be quite a few freshman suiting up for the Panthers this season.
Panorama Panthers girls basketball coach Kylee Boettcher says this years freshman could potentially be one of the largest group of freshman she has ever seen. Boettcher says with this large class of freshman on the team they have found ways to connect as a team in various ways including making videos for social media.
“We have seven freshman this year. This is probably one of the biggest groups I have had, even thinking like from the junior level on up. That’s exciting, definitely some freshman coming in. At first it can be a little intimidating coming in and you have people like Payton (Beckman), Laci (Rishel) and Angel (Poldberg) ahead of you there kind of leading the pack. So, just making sure we are always building and connecting as a team.”
Boettcher tells Raccoon Valley Radio they will continue to focus on building the chemistry and interacting off the floor which will them help throughout the season.
The Panthers girls basketball team will kick off their season next week on November 30th at 6 p.m. against the Mount Ayr Raiders at Panorama High School.
