For people who are wanting to catch a movie, a free movie series continues in Perry this weekend. 

The Merchant Movie for this weekend is the movie “Elf” which people can come and watch for free at the Perry Grand 3 Theatre. Owner Eric Tiernan says merchants in Perry help sponsor the free movies for the community which is an important aspect.

“Well, I just want to really stress how important it is that they help and how much we appreciate it. We don’t make money on this, we don’t try to make money on this and it costs us a little money but it really helps when the merchants chip in.”

The movie series has a free movie playing every Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. until Christmas and admission is free on a first come first served basis. 

“Some kids can’t afford to go to a movie, some parents can’t afford to take them. This gives them all an opportunity to come in and see a free movie, they are not obligated to buy anything, and just enjoy it.”
