The recent fund drive for the Greene County 4-H Foundation was deemed a success.

Greene County ISU Extension Director Lori Mannel tells Raccoon Valley Radio they raised over $15,000 for the local 4-H Foundation. Mannel notes the fundraising drive was to help make improvements to Clover Cafe. Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation also pitched in with a $5,000 donation through their “Give Back Campaign.” Mannel talks about what the Greene County 4-H Foundation will use all of its money on.

“That money will go again back into the Clover Cafe. It also goes into scholarships for kids that go onto education at a (post secondary) school. It goes back to fund camps when they are bringing back the Washington D.C. camps and the other camps that kids can do. It gets quite expensive for these kids.”

Mannel thanks not only GGCGC, but the entire community for their financial support of the Greene County 4-H Foundation. She adds that they take donations all year round and to contact the Extension Office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138 for more information.
