It’s Greene County hosting Perry in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference basketball tonight in the high school gym in Jefferson. The girls play at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow. The Perry girls and Greene County boys were winners when the teams met in December in Perry.

The Jayettes are 6-10 overall and 3-8 in conference games. Perry is led by the one-two punch of junior Lydia Olejniczak and senior Jayna Kenney. The former is averaging 18 points per game and the latter is at 10, for a Perry team that is averaging 38 points. Greene County averages just 24 points per game and is led by its only senior in Brianna Habben at nine per contest. The Rams are 1-15 with 15 straight losses and are 0-11 in the conference.

The Perry boys are 0-11 in the Heart of Iowa, but they do have two non-conference wins and are 2-15. Greene County is coming off their best offensive performance of the season in last Friday’s 75-61 road win in State Center over West Marshall and the Rams are 8-8 overall and 7-4 in league play.

Coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. on KG98 for the Greene County point of view, on KDLS 1310AM/99.7 FM for the Perry perspective, and streaming will take place on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
