One of the largest fundraisers of the year for the Perry Chamber of Commerce had good attendance over the weekend.

Bicyclists from all around Iowa, as well as the country, gathered in front of the Hotel Pattee in Perry on Saturday for the 45th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says in terms of registration, there were approximately 650 total registered riders and roughly 900 counted riders out on the road.

“For those that participate just a big thank you, that’s the reason why we continue to do this ride, continue on this tradition. We bring people in from all over the place, they come out, it’s kind of wild and crazy to have this activity in the middle of winter but everyone that comes out are coming because they want to be a part of something that’s bigger than themself.”

Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that while the 45th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey is just removed from taking place, for those who are wanting to register for next year’s event there is registration available now with super early bird registration until April 5th.

“We get a lot of requests for people wanting to register already for next year’s ride. So, one fun thing that we are doing to celebrate 45 years is to have the registration open already for next year’s ride until 4/5 again to celebrate that 45th year.”

The Annual Bike Ride to Rippey is held every year on the first Saturday in February.
