Dallas Center – Grimes boys basketball will be on the court for 3A state quarterfinal action on Tuesday at 2 pm against the Carroll Tigers. DCG is a top overall seed in their bracket while Carroll will come in as a dangerous 8 seed.

These two former conference foes meet earlier this year for the first time since 2013, and DCG was able to grab the victory in overtime 53-50. DCG was able to force Carroll into one of their season highs in turnovers with 24 on the night.

Cole Glasgow was able to score 14 points in the game and Jackson Jones was able to chip in with 11 as well. Mustang basketball was able to grab 14 assists on 21 made field goals in the first matchup.

Both teams are very good at scoring the basketball with DCG averaging 62 points per game and Carroll averaging 59 points per game. The Mustang defense will look to slow down a good senior guard in Caleb Booth for Carroll, as he averaged 20 points per game this year.

This is the second consecutive trip for DCG, last year they were a four seed but lost to Davenport Assumption in the first round 56-42.

You can listen to the game on the Raccoon Valley Radio Network on 943, 997, and AM 1310 KDLS.
