Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community reminds everyone to shop local during two special retail promotions this weekend.

Promotions Team member Bonnie Silbaugh talks about a spring promotion that is happening today and tomorrow.

“‘Celebrate Spring: Loads of Luck,’ and that’s our open house, and that’s a very local event. You’ll see a lot of different businesses that maybe aren’t always open, try to be open that weekend.”  

Silbaugh points out they are teaming up with other Iowa Main Street programs in Manning and Coon Rapids with the Main Street Retail Road Trip on Saturday. She notes there are two different maps that start the day in Manning and/or in Jefferson with breakfast options and morning shopping, to the lunch hour and shopping in Coon Rapids, before ending the day with midday shopping and evening places for dinner. 

There are 16 Jefferson retailers and businesses, along with ten restaurants and other food establishments participating in the three-community Road Trip Saturday event, with several closing at 2pm.
