Following Spring Break, Greene County High School soccer and golf teams began practice this week in earnest for their 2022 seasons. The Rams field girls and boys soccer and girls and boys golf, and the district has athletic sharing agreements for these sports with Paton-Churdan, so any P-C high school students wanting to play golf or soccer may do so with Greene County.

Maribel Hernandez is in her first season as head girls’ soccer coach after being an assistant in recent seasons. She is the third head coach in as many years for a program that has struggled to get victories since its inception.

Karl Behne returns as boys’ soccer head coach. He’s taken the Rams to the last two Class 1A State Tournaments in the programs’ first three seasons. Chad Black returns as the assistant and the two have coached together on the high school level since starting the program in 2018.

Josh Carlson is in his second season as girls’ golf coach. The Rams didn’t have many girls out last year, so building numbers is a priority for the coach.

Heath Telleen is in season number two as the boys’ head coach after several years coaching girls’ golf here. Numbers appear to be solid, as does the amount of golfing experience returning.
