The Perry Public Library is receiving funding to help support their produce outreach program that aims to have people add more produce to their diets. 

The library is receiving a $10,000 grant from Tyson Foods along with a $2,000 Farm Credit of America grant for a total of $12,000 that will go toward the ‘Healthy Steps to a Healthier You’ program that takes place during the weekly Perry Farmers Markets. According to the library,  there will now be eight produce giveaways with 250 units to give away during the farmers markets. 

Also, the library received a $1,500 Farm Credit of America grant that will allow them to purchase milk and eggs for the food recovery program as the library refrigerator is regularly stocked with recovered foods and the milk and eggs will be a welcomed addition.The recovered foods are free to anyone on a first come, first serve basis.
