The Saints Center is preparing to host a program called “An Evening of Gospel Music and Laughter,” with a special guest from one of America’s favorite TV shows in the 1960s.
Performer Larry Delawder says that he will reenact the character Barney Fife from the TV Show called the “The Andy Griffith Show.”. Delawder explains how he will mimic Fife.
“So basically what I try to do is take maybe some of the stuff off the show and try to rework it to where it’ll work in a live setting where people will understand better, like what’s going on and that kind of thing. And so that’s kind of how Barney works.
Delawder says there will also be gospel singing from his family and the Matt Carroll and family. He explains what the audience will feel when they attend the show.
“And so we want to give them some laughter with the Barney, but we also want to sing some songs that will really minister to their hearts and the the messages in the songs that will really just speak to maybe some hardships that people are going through, whether it’s health or financial or mental or whatever, whatever it may be.”
An Evening Of Gospel Music and Laughter will take place at the Saints Center starting at 6pm on Saturday. Admission is free.
