The sixteenth annual Hiawatha Classic Bike Ride takes place Saturday, May 17th.

Cyclists of all experience levels will start their day with a hearty breakfast Caboose Park in Perry at 9am before taking off on the Raccoon River Valley Trail.  Bikers can ride any distance they wish from 12 to 50 miles, with water stops set up in Herndon, Dawson and Jefferson.

Participants need to sign up by May 1st to be guaranteed a t-shirt.  The cost is $25 per rider which includes a route map, sag wagon, water stops, shirt and breakfast.  There’s also a special family rate of $25 for everyone, with no shirts included.

Following the ride, cyclists are invited to stop by the McCreary Community Building for a relaxing swim, or trip to the sauna and spa.

The Hotel Pattee will also be hosting a post-ride celebration that afternoon.
