The Dallas County Conservation is extending an invitation to ski when it snows.
DCCB is offering an opportunity, when staff is available and the weather provides four inches or more snow, to cross country ski. This program would cost $3, registration is not required and it takes place at Voas Nature Area in Minburn. DCCB Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilchrist says that those interested are encouraged to sign up for their notification list so people wanting to participate know when this event happens.
“We like to keep a notification list so that if we’re able to offer it, we can have a nice list of people that they like to be notified so they can take advantage of those good conditions and head over to Voas Nature Area, which is over by Minburn, and it’s a great area to be able to go cross country skiing and a lot of people have enjoyed that over the years.”
Gilchrist says they offer equipment such as poles, boots and skis for ages 10 and over, although they have a very limited number of sets for younger skiers.
