The Dallas Center-Grimes boy and girl basketball teams will hit the road for their first road conference game of the season.

The night will start with the Lady Mustangs as they would like to continue their five game winning streak when they take on Oskaloosa at 6:15pm in the Oskaloosa High School gym. Both teams in this matchup are coming off lopsided wins with Oskaloosa defeating the Grayhounds from Burlington 63 to 40 and DCG beat Des Moines Christian 54 to 36. Players to look out for in this conference matchup will be Finley Fitzgerald averaging 18 points in her last two games played and for Oskaloosa, the senior, Presley Bloomers is averaging 18.8 points and 6 rebounds per game.

The boys will get their game started after the girls matchup, right around 7:45pm. This will be one of the longest trips for the Mustangs boys basketball team and Coach Joel Rankin expects it to not effect his players.

“You know, it’s not it’s only about an hour and 15 minutes. And, you know, I when I played in high school, every trip was Cedar Rapids from Dubuque. And it was, you know, 2 hours. So, you know, it’s not that bad. I think our kids will be fine. And, you know, once you start start playing and getting after it, it’s just like you’re at your home gym. So hopefully we play well Friday.”

The Dallas Center-Grimes shot 53 percent from the field in their last game against Des Moines Christian and will look continue that trend tonight. A player to look for DCG will be Jonathan Howard connected on at least two three pointers in his last two games, scoring 16 and 19 points.
