Two local public libraries will be part of a fun event for those with green thumbs.
A Des Moines group called Nine Square Feet will be bringing their Seed Swap and Giveaway event to libraries across the state Saturday, and the Stuart and Greenfield Public Libraries are participating. Rachel Majerus from the Stuart Library says that Nine Squared Feet has been doing this event for a few years, but is partnering with libraries outside the Des Moines Metro for the first time this year.
The free to attend event will be from 10am to noon at both locations. Individuals will be able to bring seeds of their own to swap with others, and Nine Squared Feet will have some seed packets to share as well. Majerus mentions that the event is used to introduce new plants to growers, and add diversity to gardens. For more information on Nine Squared Feet, visit their website or Facebook page. Links for both can be found in this story online.
