Nominations are still being accepted for the upcoming Big Boom Bracket Battle in Perry but the deadline is coming fast. 

The Perry Chamber of Commerce is preparing for their annual Big Boom Bracket Battle that will take place throughout March to help raise money for the annual Fourth of July celebration in Perry. 

The Big Boom Bracket Battle has contestants going head to head for the purpose of fundraising for the fireworks drive. Chamber Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti describes what this challenge is all about. 

“So basically we have community members nominated. We do an elimination round on Facebook and then we narrow that list down so that we have a  bracket. So then they battle it out, head to head to see who gets the most donations for the fireworks drive. Over those couple of weeks. And then the ultimate winner will get the coveted trophy and also the pie in the face.”

Nominations are being accepted but the deadline is March 1st.  Nominations can be given to the Perry Chamber of Commerce through email PerryChamber@PerryIA.org or phone 515-465-4601.

The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $12,500 for the annual fireworks display.
