A bill from a past legislative session is getting a second look.
Iowa House Representative for District23 Ray Sorensen says the 2018 Fetal Heartbeat bill that was placed under an injunction is being reconsidered by the Iowa Supreme Court. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio his thoughts.
“You know, I’m just kind of waiting for it to play out. My hope is that the court will lift the injunction on the fetal heartbeat bill. That bill contains exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother. But until that point, we’ll just, you know, wait for the legal system to work through the decision, and wait for guidance from the courts on how the legislature may need to proceed.”
Should the injunction be lifted, the bill can come back into play in Iowa, but if it is not, it will continue on the sideline, without taking effect.
