
Last night was the “Celebrate Guthrie Center event.
Attendees enjoyed a social time from 5:30-6pm, when everyone was able to enjoy a meal catered by Cafe on the Hill. After that, several groups from the community shared updates on how they had been doing, and what they may have in store for the future. The first update was from Guthrie Center Elementary Principal Diane Flannery, with member of the Little Chargers Early Learning Center Shannon Neff-Muell and Guthrie Center Mayor Mike Herbert afterwards.
Guthrie County Hospital Foundation and Guthrie Center Area Economic Development member Dennis Flannery gave updates on the hospital, Foundation and economic development group, while the update on the Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce came from President Erika Willms, and the update on Main Street Guthrie Center came from their director Lindsay Gilland.
Co-Owner of Guthrie County Quality Meats Brett Rowley gave thanks to the community for all the support the new business has gotten as they came along. At the end of the night, the 2023 Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Judy Bauler, who received a standing ovation as she made her way to the front of the room to accept the award.
