The Adel City Council met on  Tuesday. 

The Council approved the first and second reading amending water and increasing the beginning July 1st by 4.5-percent and the third reading will be considered for approval on June 13th. Additionally, they approved the first reading of an amendment to increase the rates of the city’s sanitary sewer rates by 6-percent on July 1st. 

The Council approved directing the city attorney to begin the municipal infraction process for property at 1316 Orchard Street, as well the design and permitting process for the relocation of the section of the water main on North 15th Street Bridge Project and a 4.25-percent increase to  non-union city employee wages. 

They approved the final agreement and 3-percent increase in the the fiscal year 2023-24 wages between the City of Adel, Adel Police Department and Teamsters Local Union 238 affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, cemetery records management software agreement and agreement for interim administrative services with Callahan Municipal Consultants.
