A shopping event coming up gives the community extra time to shop at Perry Businesses.

The Perry Chamber of Commerce will have many local businesses stay open after their regular business hours from 4 to 7pm for their “May Sip and Shop,” on Friday. There will be a wide variety of stores open that sell spring apparel, gifts and decor. Chamber Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti says this event puts the emphasis on shopping locally.

“Really it’s just a matter of getting out and enjoying those businesses, seeing what they’ve got to offer. What’s new in season, and enjoying those after hours experience. If you’re really busy during the day and you can’t quite make it out during the regular hours, this is a chance to get out and see what’s new with those extended hours. So really just encourage people to come on out and see what’s going on.”

Pasutti says that there will be free refreshments and special in-store offerings depending on the location.
