
The ADM varsity girls soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss in the quarterfinal round of the Iowa State 2A Soccer Tournament to the Pella Dutch yesterday in Des Moines yesterday. The Pella Dutch scored their only goal of the match when junior Abby Warner scored it with on 20 seconds left in the first half of the match, when she kicked into the goal from 20 yards out. This match was just a back fourth match where ADM Tigers had many chances to score but just couldn’t get it past Pella senior goalkeeper Haley Van Houweling, she only had given up four goals all season long heading into this matchup against the ADM Tigers and she ended getting the nice 1-0 shutout win for the Pella Dutch. Senior goalkeeper Dani Person only allowed one goal in the match yesterday against Pella while she made several saves through the match.
This loss for the ADM varsity girls soccer team will end their postseason run. The ADM varsity soccer team ended the season with a 12-5 record overall and they also snapped their current ten game winning streak with this loss to Pella. For the win for Pella Dutch, they will on to the semifinal round and face the #1 seed 17-1 Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks on Friday June 2nd at 12:30 PM Cownie Soccer Park – Field # 9 in Des Moines.
