The Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has had some help over the summer from a recent Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Graduate.

Summer Program Assistant Kierstan Knobbe has been working with other members of the Extension on the summer lunch program, different library programs, and is helping to prepare for the Guthrie County Fair in September by getting things set up for Judging Day on Monday. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why she wanted to work at the Extension over the summer.

“So I’ve been a member of 4H in the County for a long time and have taken part in many of the Extension programs and then just 4H programming and the County Fair and stuff. And so I decided that I would apply for the position to just help out with all of those events throughout the county this summer.”

Knobbe says that seeing how the Extension puts together and runs events from this new perspective has been fun, and that she really enjoys helping with the different programs that they do.
