Tuesday, July 11th

3:02am: An officer delivered a Medical Message to a resident at the request of ER.

10:36am: Bryan Helmus reported receiving a Phone Scam Call. The caller advised he worked for the IRS and he was collecting a debt for unpaid taxes. He advised Helmus owed over $10,000.00 in unpaid taxes. Helmus recognized the scam and the call was ended. He did not incur a loss. The IRS will never call you about situations like this.

1:01pm: Dispatch advised of an Open 911 Call from the 400 Block of West Lincoln Way. The officer did not locate anyone needing assistance in the area.

1:30pm: Donna Sloss reported two juveniles riding a mini bike on the street in the 500 Block of West Harrison Street. The officer located the youths and made parents come to the scene to pick up the children. The parents advised this would not be a future problem.

2:46pm: Annette Hadley reported a broken-down vehicle in the 1000 Block of South Elm Street. The subjects had pushed the vehicle off the roadway before the officer arrived and advised it would be removed shortly after.

4:25pm: An officer investigated an accident at Olive and Adams Streets. A 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, owned and operated by Shelby Wiggins of Jefferson, was northbound on Olive Street. A 2015 Ford Taurus, owned by Katherina Bishop of Wellsburg and operated by Ladonna Lebeck of Grand Junction, was westbound on Adams Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The Bishop vehicle had a reported $5000.00 in damages. The Wiggins vehicle suffered a reported $1000.00 in damages. Wiggins was cited for, “Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right.”

4:48pm: Janice Napolitano reported three stray dogs in her yard at 1201 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer is working to speak to the owner of the animals at this time.

8:15pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 220th Streets resulted in Tramine Joshua of Carroll being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”

9:50pm: Tickcha Jaimes reported her juvenile son had left home without permission to do so. The officer located him and a neighboring house and returned him home to his parents.

Wednesday, July 12th

4:40am: Officers worked to remove tree branches from the roadways after the storm. Several power lines were located that were down. Officers stood by until Alliant arrived to make repairs.

8:30am: David Wright reported a kitten behind the engine block of his vehicle at 1204 Rushridge. The kitten jumped down and ran off.

11:45am: Congregate Meals requested a Welfare Check on a subject in the 100 Block of South Grimmell Road. The officer determined the subject was in the hospital.

6:42pm: A caller reported a Careless Driver in a U-Haul Truck on 220th Street.

7:08pm: An officer was advised that a juvenile had vaping products and marijuana at the Jefferson Swimming Pool, located at 701 South Maple Street. The officer spoke to the youth, who gave the officer consent to remove the items from his shoe. The officer seized the items and charges are pending.

9:39pm: A Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Garrett Rysavy of Jefferson being cited for, “Violation of Restricted License.”
