During the most recent Panorama School Board meeting, Board President Deb Westergaard shared some good news from the district.

Westergaard shared that Teacher Nicole Dorhout is completing training at the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. as a 2020 Museum Teacher Fellow. The conference she’s attending focuses on the best practices when it comes to education on the Holocaust, and she’s also fulfilled all the requirements to be an official Museum Teacher Fellow through the U.S. Holocaust Museum.

Westergaard also mentioned that seven Panorama Students represented Iowa at the National TEAMS competition in Louisville, Kentucky at the end of June, taking two teams that both scored in the top 20-percent. The team made up of Parker Meyer, Kylie Rochholz and Anna Thompson received Best of Nation honors, and took 7th place overall in the middle school design competition. The other students competing were Luke Brinker-Owen, Cruz Crandall, Danica Isom and Gracie Recker, and they were all coached by Robyn Ploeger.
