The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce has released the schedule for this year’s Sweet Corn Festival.

The annual sweet corn shucking event takes place from 5:30-8pm Friday. Then also that night is the inaugural Sweet Corn Princess Contest at 6pm.

The day will get going on Saturday with the 5k Run and Walk at 7:30am on 11th Street, followed by  the Semi Sweet Corn Classic Truck Show from 8am to 3:30pm at the Dallas County Fairgrounds and the parade will take off at 9:30am on 18th and Main Street. 

At 11am on Saturday, there will be a free sweet corn giveaway until it’s gone. The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Sand Volleyball Tournament takes place from 11am to 6pm at Evans Park, Jesse and the Medicine will take the Raccoon Valley Bank Stage to perform a concert from 11:30am until 3pm, and on the Dallas County Courthouse lawn there will be a Sparkles Hoop Dance at 11:30am. Additionally entertainment will be a Redline Warriors Car Show on 9th and Court Street from 10am to 3pm and Adel Tumbling and Dance Club will perform at 1pm in the courtlawn. Finally, there will be a street dance from 6pm until midnight with the band Gimmick on 10th and Main Street. For the full schedule click here.
