The Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has a new Program Director.

Meghan McBride has been interested in working for ISU Extension since she interned at the Dallas County office, and started as Guthrie County’s K-12 Coordinator. She explains that shortly before graduating college, the position became open, and wasn’t far from where she was living, so she decided to apply and joined the Guthrie County Extension team. McBride tells Raccoon Valley Radio how things have gone since she started.

“Things have been going really good. I’ve met a lot of very nice people, I’ve made a lot of new connections in the community, and I’ve been able to put on a lot of very fun programs that I’ve enjoyed.”

McBride mentions that recent events for the Extension are that 4-Her’s have been participating in judging events and working on earning their way into the State Fair, before the Guthrie County Fair on Labor Day weekend. She is excited to see how well all the participants do, and see how many make it to the State Fair.
