The Adel City Council met on Tuesday.

The Council approved the resolution to close 1047 Shelby Drive from 8am until noon on August 19th and 20th for the Shelby Drive Block Party. They approved Beggars Night to take place at 6pm on October 28th, as well as approving a job description for an Administrative Clerk, and they amended an ordinance for the proposed increase the number of commissioners on the Historic Preservation Commission to seven.

The Council approved the Mayor Board and Commision Appointment of Benjamin Bobier, Deb Christensen and Cori Pickett to the Historic Preservation Commission, a resolution accepting temporary easements regarding the 15th Street bridge project, a hauling/junk removal contract with Jermaine’s Hauling Services for the property at 1316 Orchard Street, a resolution ordering the construction of the Adel Water Utility Improvements new well and setting a public hearing date for September 12th to take bids on the project, and they also set a public hearing for  September 12th for the revision of Ordinance 396.

They tabled the funding request, scope of services and funding agreement regarding membership in the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance until a  review can be done by city staff.
