The Dallas Center-Grimes boys golf team won their first tournament and it has built some confidence within the team.
The Mustang boys golf team took first place in the Jesse Peck Invitational with a team score of 307 at the Briarwood Golf Course in Ankeny. Dallas Center-Grimes outlasted the competition as they beat Ankeny by seven strokes. Junior Noah Moberg came to play as he shot two over par in 18 holes with a score of 74. Head Coach Jordan Ray has a lot to say about his team following the win.
“It was a program changer for us. Just a heck of a great start to our season. This is our second year jumping up into into foray golf. And for us to be able to make a splash at the Centennial Invitational is really cool and I’m really proud of our guys. So a great start to our season.”
Ray hopes the momentum continues when they stay home and play at their home course in Grimes at Beaver Creek Golf Course.
