The Adel Community will be able to come together to get familiar with city departments. 

The Adel Public Library will host an event called “Touch a Truck,” from 9 to 11 am on Friday at the parking lot on the north side of city hall. Patron Services Manager Amy Puck says that they will have a garbage truck, Hirta (Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency) bus, ambulance, fire truck and several other city trucks in attendance. She mentions that the  Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District has no school on Friday so it’s a perfect time to come join them. 

“There are going to be several different types of utility style vehicles that the kids always love to look at, and now they will have an opportunity to touch them.”

This will be a free and open to the public event.
