
The Perry City Council met on Monday.
The Council approved a resolution approving the donation agreement for the acceptance of the Hotel Pattee, La Poste and related properties. They approved a settlement agreement of $30,000 to Richard Steadman who is the cemetery supervisor. The settlement states that the payment will include all leave pay pursuant to the city’s usual policy. The Council approved authorizing internal advance for funding of an urban renewal project. This resolution would authorize an internal advance from the sewer fund to payout up to $300,000 to Perry Economic Development which will pay off the loan they currently have with T.C. and B. Corporate Wearables, Inc.
They also approved the sale of Perry Public Library’s furniture, a local match and a grant application to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), an application to the US Department of Transportation for a SMART Grant and a real estate donation agreement and assumption of lease. This grant will fund the planning and prototyping of a fully autonomous electric garbage and recycle collection truck.
The Council set November 6th at 6pm in the Towncraft Building as the date for public hearing on the designation of the expanded Perry Urban Renewal Area and on Urban Renewal Plan Amendment.
In old business, the Council approved airport runway phase two and three pay applications, a pay application and change order for the 2023 Portland Cement Concrete crack sealing project, the final pay application for the Wiese Park Improvements and a pay application for the 2020 Downtown Street and Utility Improvements Project.
