
Dallas Center-Grimes had both cross country teams qualify for the state tournament on Wednesday.
The Mustang girls cross country team dominated their district meet with a score of 34 points which placed first overall. The freshman Piper Messerly came across the finish line in third place with a time of 18 minutes and six seconds while her teammates trailed behind. Junior Maddy Stevens placed fourth, Emily Meyers placed fifth and Addison Dooley finished 10th.
The Mustang boys cross country team tip toed the line of qualifying as they finished third as a team with 65 points. Junior Elias Arbuckle ran a time of 15 minutes and 57 seconds which placed his 11th and then sophomore Colin Mandernach placed 12th, senior Jack Every placed 13th and freshman Graham Ibeling placed 12th. Both teams will be looking forward to running at the state tournament in Fort Dodge on Friday, October 27th with the girls running at 10:30am followed by the boys at 11:15am.

The Mustangs qualify for State, placing 3rd in a fun battle with Ankeny & IC Liberty. 5 individual qualifiers, too!
