Wednesday, October 18th

1:22am: ER advised of a Cat Bite, which had occurred in Jefferson. The officer is working to gather information from the subject who was bitten.

10:03am: Trisha Emery reported a Stray Dog at 507 South Walnut Street. The officer returned the animal to an area owner, with a Verbal Warning.

12:00pm: The Sheriff took a report from a Grand Junction resident about a Burglary, which had occurred around Friday, October 13th, 2023. The Burglary had occurred at 407 South Olive Street in Jefferson. It was reported that $250,000.00 in gold/silver Coins, Proof sets, Gold/Silver Bars, cash and Jewelry had been taken from the residence. The Sheriff’s Office and Jefferson Police Department worked together on the investigation. At about 1458 hours, a suspected vehicle was located in the 300 Block of South Locust Street. Deputies and officers sat on the vehicle until the suspects walked from an area residence to the truck. An officer arrested Bryce Randal Delaney, 46 of Jefferson and charged him with, “Theft 1st Degree-C Felony.” At about 1610 hours, deputies and officers were granted Verbal Consent from the property owner to search the common areas of the residence at 306 South Locust Street. Numerous stolen coins and jewelry were located in the residence. Officers secured a Search Warrant for the basement of the residence and a camper, which Delaney had been staying in. At about 2136 hours, the Search Warrant was executed on the basement of the residence and the camper. A large amount of the stolen property was recovered during the execution of the Search Warrants. Items of meth/marijuana and paraphernalia were also seized. At about 2301 hours, a second Search Warrant was executed on a storage unit in the 1500 block of North Elm Street. Additional items were seized from the unit. More criminal charges are expected upon the completion of the investigation.

4:00pm: Tina Greene reported Harassment by phone from a known male. The officer contacted the male and advised him to end the contact, or face charges.

8:14pm: Boone County requested an officer to watch for a vehicle in Jefferson, with a reported Suicidal Subject operating it. The officer located the vehicle and performed a Traffic Stop near Elm and American Ave. The officer determined the subject was not suicidal.
