National Youth wrestling ratings outlets have Greene County seventh grade wrestler Johnathan Thompson of Grand Junction among the top 15 in the United States pound-for-pound rankings. Unbeaten in more than 50 matches over the last 12 months, Thompson recently collected titles at the “Super 32” and Dan Wick National Tournaments. He heads to Tulsa, OK later this month for his next big competition.

Weighing less than 80 lbs., Thompson is a force on the mat, and the sport has taken him to numerous States and to the highest level of Youth wrestling. In a conversation with Raccoon Valley Radio the seventh grader made it clear his goals are high, as is his work ethic.

Thompson will be featured on the Nov. 6 PM Sports Magazine KG98 Edition at 6 o’clock that evening.
