Menlo library bldgThe Menlo Public Library has joined in on the summer reading fun along with other area libraries, as library director Annette Murphy says her kids have just begun the summer reading challenge.

In what is being billed as a program kick off event of sorts, the library is hosting a special show next Wednesday evening.  Murphy invites all area residents to attend the free event, in which magician Keith West visits Menlo.

“We have it scheduled for 6:30pm (Wednesday), which is perfect family time and we’re hoping that lots of families come.  It will be here in the (Menlo) Community Building.  I’m excited to see what he’s going to do.  He said that in the first few minutes of his act, he’s going to make his assistant appear out of thin air.”

Murphy says free will donations will be accepted at the magic show event, with all donations being used to help fund the library’s upcoming expansion project.

To hear her discuss Keith West’s visit in more detail and to hear about other things happening at the Menlo Library this summer, tune-in to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County for our full conversation with Murphy during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours.
