More cyclists will be making their way through Perry this weekend as the Des Moines Cycle Club hosts their 6th annual Tour de Raccoon.
Around 100 riders are expected to participate in the two day event, with 20 percent of them coming from out of state. The ride takes off from Waukee Saturday morning, cyclists will stay over in Jefferson that night and then complete the full Raccoon River Valley Trail loop on Sunday.
Riders will be coming through Perry midday Saturday and Chamber executive director Bob Wilson says it’s just another chance to show off the town and its amenities. He encourages everyone to welcome the guests and show them around town when possible.
Wilson also reminds residents to always be alert and keep your eye out for cyclists.
