Carroll evened its record at 4-4 with a 23-11 non-conference high school baseball victory over Greene County in Jefferson at Allensworth Field on Thursday night. The Tigers had 19 hits and two errors while leaving nine runners on base. The Rams had 11 runs on 10 hits. They had seven errors and left six on base as they lost their fourth straight game and fell to 3-7 overall.

Carroll’s first eight batters of the game reached base without an out being recorded. The Tigers scored six times in the first inning and never trailed, although the Rams climbed to within 7-6 after two innings. The score was 15-11 after five before the Tigers scored eight times in the sixth and won by the 10-run rule.

JC Weitl was the first of four Greene County pitchers and he took the loss. TJ Feldman was the winner in relief of starter Peyton Renning. Renning had two doubles and four runs batted in.

Daric Whipple singled three times from the leadoff spot for the Rams. Alex Rasmussen doubled and singled and drove in three runs. Weitl had two singles and one RBI while Colton Fitzpatrick had a single and two driven in. Riah Nelsen had one base hit and one RBI while Dylan McConnell added a single.
